YTU student came first in international competition with the drone software she prepared
Our founder and Yildiz Technical University (YTU) student Meryem Koc was deemed worthy of the first prize in the "Shift Appens" competition held in Portugal, leaving her competitors behind with the autonomous drone software she developed.
According to the news of Anadolu Agency (AA); YTU Intelligent Transportation Systems Master's Program student Meryem Koc presented a solution that will revolutionize warehouse management systems in the project she developed with the Deptron Robotics team.
Autonomous Flight Without GPS
The software developed within the scope of the competition allows drones to move autonomously in indoor areas (warehouses) without the need for GPS signals. The system developed using image processing technology can automatically count stocks on shelves and transfer data instantly to the warehouse management panel.

Victory Coming in 48 Hours
At Shift Appens, one of Europe's most prestigious technology events held in Coimbra, Portugal, participants were asked to produce a functional product within 48 hours. Our team received full marks from the jury members with the "Best Autonomous Solution" they developed in a limited time, while also being selected as the "Public Favorite" by the votes of other participants.
Contribution to the Sector
This developed technology is described as the air-supported version of the autonomous warehouse solutions (AMR) offered by Deptron Robotics. This success once again proved the competence of Turkish engineering in the field of autonomous systems and artificial intelligence in the international arena.
